The previously announced celebrity wrestler forWWE 2K25’s New Wave Pack has been replaced by El Grande Americano, the lucha disguise for Chad Gable. Shared on social media, 2K says that the character will be automatically available for those who own the New Wave Pack, Season Pass, Ringside Pass, and Deadman Edition + Bloodline Edition in September.
El Grande Americano Jumps Into the Fray
El Grande Americano, when he joinsWWE 2K25in September, will have a unique entrance with video and music attached to it. He’ll also have the lucha-inspired moveset that Chad Gable has adapted. It will be interesting if theEl Grande Americanocharacter will still be present within the WWE programming. Gable is currently injured, and another wrestler has taken on the role: Ludwig Kaiser (according toPWInsider). It would be interesting if 2K includes the Kaiser version of El Grande Americano as well.
Fans on social media seem to be disappointed with the news. “Glad we finally got an update, but this is a bit of a letdown as a replacement for me personally and having to wait until September makes it even more frustrating,” saidWhatstheStatus on Xas a reply with 266 likes as of the time of writing.
NBA Stars Are in WWE 2K25
It is somewhat of a blessing, however, that we’re getting an actual wrestler as opposed to a celebrity unlike previously. The Dunk & Destruction Pack, released on June 25, has three NBA stars: Tyrese Haliburton, Shaquille O’Neal, and Jalen Brunson. That particular DLC pack also includes The Great Khali and Abyss. The upcoming Fearless Pack has some exciting wrestlers in store for us, despite having one annoying celebrity as a DLC character. It includes:
KSI, the popular content creator and musician from the UK, will be making it into WWE 2K25 in a Prime Energy Bottle. He previously interrupted a SmackDown match in March 2024 with Randy Orton.

Social media star Logan Paul may be controversial but has proven himself in the ring and was on the base roster for WWE 2K25.
Thankfully, future DLC packs won’t include any celebrities at all. On September 17, 2K will drop the Attitude Era Superstars Pack. It has Billy Gunn, D’Lo Brown, Mark Henry, Road Dogg, and Victoria, who are all worthy names for WWE 2K25 to be included. The last pack is the Saturday Night’s Main Event pack, which releases on November 12. Jesse Ventura, Junk Yard Dog, Mr. Wonderful, Sid Justice, and Tito Santana are all of the part of the final pack.
Some fans have wantedmore TNA representation in WWE 2K25as they’ve made major appearances in the product over the past few years. Joe Hendry is one that is somehow absent, despite having a WrestleMania match against Randy Orton this year. The TNA Knockouts World Champion Masha Slamovich would also likely be welcomed into the game. Despite this disappointment, 2K has beengiving solid updatesto the title since it launched.
