NOTE:Most endemic life forms do not appear on the map, but that is not the case with the Rime Beetle. The easiest way to spot a Rime Beetle on the map is to look for a dark blue circular icon on the map, similar to the Sleeptoad.

How to Catch the Rime Beetle?

When you get too close to the Rime Beetle, you can press the interact button, and the hunter will kick the Rime Beetle and grab the frost ammo from this endemic life creature. However, doing this will avoid the purpose of capturing the Rime Beetle as it will run away and hide underground shortly after you kick it.

That is why you must not interact with the Rime Beetle when you get too close to it. Instead, use the Capture Net and fire at the snowball and you will capture the Rime Beetle.
