Willem Dafoe and Harrison Ford have starred in numerous movies throughout their Hollywood years. With both being veteran actors, they had to find their footing in the world of CGI and de-aging faces to make them look younger.

Although Harrison Ford had no problems getting de-aged using CGI, Willem Dafoe revealed that he hated the process. In an interview, the actor revealed that the whole process felt fuzzy and chaotic since the concept of de-aging actors is still relatively new for the people.

In an interview with WIRED,The Lighthouseactor talked about CGI, visual effects, and how much he hated being de-aged. The actor ended his talks on a sweet note that he doesn’t even look that old.
“Yeah, there was a couple of shots that were really fuzzy. I thought it was silly because the de-aging thing, they don’t have that down yet. And what’s the point? I don’t look that much older. I don’t think anyway. It’s the creams.”

The veteran actor recently starred inIndiana Jones and the Dial of Destinywherein he reprised his iconic role once again. Since the actor was quite old to show some scenes of the past, AI and de-aging technology were used on Harrison Ford’s face for the scenes requiring a younger Indiana Jones. Recalling the creation of de-aging, here’s whatHarrison Fordhad to say.

“I never loved the idea until I saw how it was accomplished in this case — which is very different than the way it’s been done in other films I’ve seen. They’ve got every frame of film, either printed or unprinted, of me during 40 years of working with Lucasfilm on various stuff.”
He further continued,
“I can act the scene and they sort through with AI every fu*king foot of film to find me in that same angle and light. It’s bizarre and it works and it is my face.”
As we said, this was completely contradictory to what Willem Dafoe had to say about de-aging. The actor was revered for his role as the Green Goblin after all these years as OG fans loved seeing Willem Dafoe wearing the Green Goblin suit for a second time.
