Patrick Stewart is popularly known for his career-defining performance as Charles Xavier/Professor X in the X-Men films. His charismatic and magnetic performance as the character made it an iconic casting in movie history and he went on to play the role in many films. He recently reprised his role inDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.While his appearance was considered an underwhelming one, it opened up many possibilities for his character.

Stewart recently appeared onEtalkwhere he was asked about a potential return to the MCU. Stewart expressed his openness to reprise the role and also joked about how many times his character has died and come back before. He said,

Fans however were not as happy about his potential return considering the subpar treatment of Professor X inDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madnessand thus were not optimistic about the whole scenario. Here’s what some of them had to say onX,

Fans are reasonably pessimistic about his return but things can change for the better. With his rumored role inDeadpool 3, it remains to be seen if his next potential MCU appearance blows it out of the park and reinvigorates people’s excitement for the character again.

Patrick Stewart Teases He and Ian McKellen Are Not Done With X-Men

With Patrick Stewart reprising his role as Professor X inDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,fans are hoping that the character will surely return in a future MCU film again in some capacity. In an interview withET Online, he teased that he is not done with the character, and he and Ian McKellen who played Magneto, have plans to reunite. He said,

“Actually, it went very well. He did say something like [‘Hey, I would’ve done this!’], yes that’s true. But we’re not done, Sir Ian and myself. We’re… we got plans.”

This is exciting news for Marvel fans who have loved their electrifying chemistry in the original X-Men films. Only time will tell whether this ever comes true. The most likely possibility of this happening will be in the upcomingDeadpool 3where it is rumored that the original X-Men team will have a pivotal role.
