The Recruitis not only one of the most intriguing spy series onNetflix, it also delivers some detective work to the viewers themselves. With each episode title being an acronym, attention to detail throughout the entire series is essential to find out what they stand for.
The Netflix hit series definitely has an intention behind this sinceOwen Hendricks (Noah Centineo) himself always makes it a point that he simply can’t keep up with all the codes and acronyms. Without further ado, let’s decode every episode title ofThe RecruitSeason 2.

The Recruit
‘The Recruit’ Episode 1 Y.N.A.H.Y.A.L.
The first season ofThe Recruitleft Owen craving more action once again, and, as fate wanted it, he found himself in the middle of a chaotic mission. When he asked for permission to bring it to a (hopefully) successful end, Owen’s boss, Nyland, told him that, “You’re not a hero, you’re a lawyer,” which was such a striking statement that it made it into the episode title. It definitely becomes clear that perhaps Owen is a hero, after all.
‘The Recruit’ Episode 2 Y.A.R.A.C.O.T.D.O.P.
The title of episode 2, “You are really a condom on the d*** of progress,” refers to an entertaining relationship between Owen and one of his colleagues. If there is one thing that is clear from the very beginning of the exciting Netflix series with animpressive score on Rotten Tomatoes, then it is the fact that CIA agent Janus has no interest in working with Owen whatsoever.
After ‘The Recruit,’ Fans Should Revisit This Prime Video Spy Series With 91% on Rotten Tomatoes
Fans of Netflix’s The Recruit must watch Prime Video’s highly acclaimed spy series ‘Patriot.’
He considers Owen an immense burden and the root of all his problems, avoiding the CIA lawyer at any cost. When he is ordered to accompany Owen on his mission to South Korea, Janus continuously makes it known that Owen is indeed the one person who either sets off a nightmare mission or keeps everyone from doing their job according to protocol.

‘The Recruit’ Episode 3 H.H.I.I.T.K.A.L.
The third episode, “How hard is it to kill a lawyer?” refers to the fact that Owen not only has a lot of enemies who are trying to kill him but there are also some of his colleagues whose goal is to put an end to Owen’s life. Dawn, for one, made it her personal task to rid herself of Owen for good and simultaneously ensure that he wouldn’t be able to reveal any of her secrets. With all the betrayal he experienced, Owen could become the main character in arevenge-themed TV series.
‘The Recruit’ Episode 4 A.T.N.W.H.Y.P.A.B.H.
Episode 4 ofThe Recruitkicked off with Owen speeding to get to Jang Kyun’s apartment to break in and find out information about the NIS agent. During the drive, he was on the phone with Janus, who consolingly (or not) explained to him that if he’s caught, he’s dead. Although he actually meant that he would be immediately kicked out of South Korea, “and then Nyland will have you pulled apart by horses,” because their boss certainly wouldn’t want his agents risking the relationship between the CIA and NIS like that.
‘The Recruit’ Episode 5 W.S.T.W.T.P.
“We’re still tinkering with the programmatics” was a sentence said by CIA general counsel Nyland during a tense conversation with the South Korean NIS when he was ordered to hand over the South Korean officer Jang Kyun. He tries to clarify that the situation isn’t as simple, as they are still working on the programmatics, but patience is a foreign word inthis spy thriller.
‘The Recruit’ Episode 6 I.D.N.W.T.B.D.I.
This episode’s title, “I do not want to be dead inside,” is arguably the most important one of the entire globallysuccessful Netflix series. The reason for this is that Owen said these words during a turning point in his mission. Jang Kyun and he were, as Owen later found out, betrayed by Nichka, which forced him to leave an injured Jang Kyun and his wife in the hands of the Russians on a boat while he swam for his life.
Netflix’s Thrilling Spy Series With an MCU Star Is the Perfect Replacement for ‘The Recruit’
Charlie Cox is best known for his dazzling portrayal of Matt Murdock in ‘Daredevil,’ but in 2022, he also headlined the spy thriller ‘Treason.’
Once he called his colleagues, Dawn and Lester, in order to tell them that he would try to save them, they told him to leave them behind. Owen didn’t react well to this suggestion, calling them out for having lost any sense of empathy and humanity and stating that he never wants to end up like them. He never wants to be dead inside. This is also an important statement, which might set up what Owen’s future in the CIA in a possible third season ofThe Recruitcould look like. The Recruitis available to stream onNetflix.
