Nihon Falcom’s anticipated third entry to theirTrails of Cold Steelfranchise,The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III,  is suffering from poor sales as a result of missing out on porting for the PlayStation Vita.

As reported by Japanese analytical firm, Media Create, referring to the week-long sales period between September 25th and October 5th. Describing the missed opportunity as: “painful”.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III- Sales Woe

The latest installment to theLegend of Heroesseries was launched in Japan on September 28, exclusively  for the PlayStation 4, and sold87,261 unitsduring its debut week.

Which is a significant underperformance in sales when compared to its' predecessor,Trails of Cold Steel IIthat launched for the PS3 and PS Vita, which sold almost twice as many with a total of152,000 unitsfrom its first week. Specifically65,000 unitson PS3, and86,000 unitson PS Vita.
