Bethesda has laid out the plans for the upcomingUpdate 12forThe Elder Scrolls Online, which will feature the newOne Tamrielas its cornerstone. Update 12 is free for all players and arrives this coming Monday on the public test server, and will go live to everyone in October.
One Tamriel Features
One Tamriel is the new initiative for the MMO that removes the restrictions to content in the game based on level. Once One Tamriel is live, players will be able to travel anywhere in the game they wish and play the content in any order they’d like even if just starting the game for the first time. This brings the experience more in line with the traditional Elder Scrolls games likeSkyrim. The game will scale and balance your character to the content.

Update 12 also brings some changes to the base game not directly related to One Tamriel.
The announcement of One Tamriel made news during E3 and now we get to see some details on what it’s going to change for players. TheGold Editionof the game releases in September, which includes the base game and all the DLC released to date, making it a good entry point in anticipation of One Tamriel.
