The latest Bard’s Tale has been in the works for the past few years under inXile Entertainment. The newest titleThe Bard’s Tale IV: Barrows Deepgets it’s release on September 18th on PC, with other platforms Mac, Linux, PS4 and Xbox One coming this fall.
The Bard’s Tale IV: Barrows Deep is Releasing on September 18th 2018
This year marks the 30th anniversary of the The Bard’s Tale III: Thief of Fate’s, having a release of a new title this year is a way to commemorate this milestone. The Bard’s Tale IV:Barrows Deep is now available on beta throughinXile Entertainment’s Kickstartercampaign, those who have backed the game with a Ultimate of Platinum edition pre-order.
The game is a first-person party RPG, following the series well known formula. But with the latest title, a major upgrade has been given in terms of visuals using Unreal Engine 4. Exploring the world of Caith, influenced by Scotland, players will take on quests, dungeon crawlers and puzzle solving. Featuring a story from Wasteland 2’s writer Nathan Long and is brought to life by Ged Grimes' the musician of Simple Minds.

In a new developer diary they show some of the game’s box art and screenshots from the game. The Bard’s Tale IV: Barrows Deep is set to release on September 18th 2018 for PC, with it’s release on console later this Fall 2018.
