TheApex Legendscommunity is continuing to express its disapproval of theupcoming Battle Pass changesas the game’s newest event trailer is bombarded with dislikes.

Earlier this month, Respawn Entertainment announced that it would be re-working Apex Legends' Battle Passes from Season 22, which is set to be released sometime in August. The changes went down like a lead balloon as fans immediately threatened to boycott the popular Battle Royale title if Respawn went ahead with the changes.

Valve Wins Back The Hearts Of Team Fortress 2 Players With Massive Summer 2024 Update

But players are still urging others not to buy crates.

Why are these changes so controversial? Well, there’s a handful of reasons. One of the main ones that fans took issue with was Respawn splitting each season’s Battle Pass into two and forcing players to pay with real-life money to purchase them. Not only does this work out to $20 per season, but it prevents players from purchasing any upcoming Battle Passes with Apex Coins, something that could be done by players previously.

Shortly after these changes were announced, the Apex Legends community review bombed the game on Steam to express their outrage at the changes. At the time of writing this article, Apex Legends has an “overwhelmingly negative” review badge when it comes to recent reviews. According to Steam, only 10% of the nearly 55,000 reviews in the last 10 days have been positive.

Many of the reviewscall out Respawn Entertainment’s decision as a “stupid cash grab,” while some even claim that they are “deleting the game” due to the new Battle Pass system.

Despite the thousands of negative reviews and outcry from the community, Respawn Entertainment has refused to back track or even acknowledge the controversy. While the studio appears to be standing firm in its decision (at least for now), players are continuing to make their voices heard. This time, it’s in the form of YouTube dislikes.

Earlier this week, Apex Legends announced the new “Void Reckoning” event with a brand-new trailer. The event will see the debut of a new limited-time mode known as “Big TDM,” the game’s first ever 12v12 Deathmatch mode. The event will kick off on July 23rd, but there’s only one thing on the community’s mind right now.

At the time of writing this article, the Void Reckoning event trailer has a massive 40,000 dislikes with only 5,600 likes. To put that into a little better perspective, Apex Legends' previous event trailer (which premiered prior to the reveal of the Battle Pass changes) has only 8,900 dislikes and 13,000 likes.

Many of the comments on the trailer continue to call out the upcoming changes: “I’m surprised that they didn’t made us pay to watch the trailer,” one user joked, while another said, “I love how respawn is acting like nothing bad is happening atm and thinks everyone is happy with the state of the game.”
