Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Timegives you a lot of exploration opportunities, but you’ll find that some areas are locked behind Purple Seals. Even worse, the way that those seals are lifted isn’t immediately clear when you start out in the game. As it turns out, you’ll have to put any ideas of removing the seals to the side for a while, since they’re locked behind completing other content first.

Purple Seals are basically ways that the game keeps endgame content unavailable. Because of this, youneed to complete the main campaignbefore you even consider removing any Purple Seals.
Unlocking the Ability to Remove Purple Seals
When you complete the main campaign, head to your Base Camp. There, speak with Trip to learn about a stone slate he got from the last boss. Next, you gospeak with Edward at the Guild Officeabout the stone slate, where he tells you that the slate has Dark Power recipes on it, and that there should be more slates you can find with additional recipes. However, this slate has information about Dark Fire, which is what you need to remove Purple Seals.
Removing Purple Seals
As you learn from the slate, Dark Fire is used to remove Purple Seals. After you talk to Edward, you’ll be able to find Dark Fire as a possible drop from enemy monsters. Specifically,Dark Fire drops only from Shadow Monsters, and the drop rate is rather low. So, once you finish the campaign and talk to Edward, you’ll want to start farming Dark Fires, since each seal requires a different number of them to be lifted, and the lower end is around 10 Dark Fires. Then, when you have enough Dark Fires for the Purple Seal, you can interact with the seal to remove it.
Since you can’t get Dark Fires early, there’s no point trying to farm them before you learn about the slate from Edward. Instead, you’re better off working towards completing the campaign and finding items that can increase your drop rate so that your eventual grind for Dark Fires doesn’t take as long when you unlock the ability to collect them in Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time.
