Prince of Persia: The Lost Crownwill receive a story expansion that will take us to the dark Mount Qaf, marking the grand return of a legendary video game saga, this time in the form of a 2D metroidvania with combat and platforming, a genre that’s been quite popular in recent years.
Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown Shows DLC Teaser
On September 17, the Ubisoft game will release an expansion titled Mask of Darkness, of which little is known so far, though a small video preview was shown a few hours ago.
Ubisoft posted a short video on X (formerly Twitter) that shows the setting of this DLC, and we imagine it’s a prelude to a trailer that might be revealed in the coming hours or days, as the release is imminent.

“Mask of Darkness will add a new, darker and exciting chapter to Sargon’s story. Players will be able to explore a new interconnected world made up of exclusive biomes in this original adventure on Mount Qaf.”
This is the only information we have about the expansion, which confirms it will tell a new story where we can explore a new map, Mount Qaf.
This location was already important inPrince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands (2010), a mythological mountain inspired by Persian and Islamic mythology. It is mentioned as the edge of the world, a mysterious realm that separates the human world from the djinn’s realm, so you can imagine that the setting of this new adventure will be somewhat dark and terrifying.
Along with this DLC, theComplete Editionwill be released, including the base game, theImmortalsoutfit, theProsperity Birdamulet,the Warrior Withinoutfit, the digital adventure guide, the downloadable content, and two new outfits for Sargon inspired byPrince of Persia: The Two Thrones.
