Can you believe that it is almost 2024? Where is the time going? Another new year brings a host of fresh events to Pokemon GO, and it will be starting off with a bang with the New Year’s 2024 event which features one of the cutest Pokemon debuts of late!
Pokemon GO New Year’s 2024 All Event Details
When Pokemon GO launched in 2016, I had no idea that I would still be playing it eight years later in 2024. It’s been a long journey, and much has changed over the years. What better way to celebrate that than by bringing in the new year in-game and in style? Plus, there will be fireworks in the sky again.
Event Date and Time
The Pokemon GO New Year’s 2024 event will begin onMonday,January 1,2024, at10:00 AMand last untilWednesday,January 3,2024, at8:00 PMlocal time.
Pokemon Debuts
The following two Pokemon will debut during the New Year’s 2024 event.
Wild Pokemon Encounters
The following Pokemon will be able to be caught in the wild for the duration of the New Year’s 2024 event, and yes dapper Hoothoot is back.
Event Egg Pool
The following Pokemon will be able to be found in Eggs that are obtained during the event period.
Raid Pokemon
The following Pokemon will be able to be defeated and caught from Raids that are active during the event period.
Do note that the Ultra Beasts that can be found in Five-Star Raids are regionals, and you will only be able to find whichever one is local to you. Unless you may Remote Raid to a Raid in another region.
Field Research Task Encounters
During the event period, trainers will be able to encounter certain Pokemon as rewards for completing Field Research Tasks that will be rewarded by spinning PokeStop’s and obtaining event-specific tasks. On top of the below Pokemon, trainers will also be rewarded with Stardust for completing said tasks.
Event Bonuses
The following Event Bonuses will be active for the duration of the New Year’s 2024 event.
Event Avatar Item
You can bring in the New Year in style with this rather adorable Darumaka Hat. The more you stare at it, the cuter it looks.
Event Exclusive Paid Timed Research
Players can purchase an event exclusive Paid Timed Research for $1 USD or the equivalent cost in their local currency. Purchasing this research will provide trainers with the following rewards on successful completion of it.

The Paid Time Research will go live at the same time as the event and will need to be completed byJanuary 3,2024, at8:00 PMlocal time to take full advantage of its benefits.
