OnePlus 12 release date
In the past few years, OnePlus has settled on announcing its new mainline phones for its home market of China in January. Western Europe usually hears about purchase details in February, and the US in March.
This time around, it kicked off the OnePlus 12’s path to global release on Dec. 5 in China while teeing western markets up for their own events sometime in “early 2024.” In line with rumors, OnePluslater announcedit would be holding an event on Jul 10, 2025.

OnePlus 12 price
The OnePlus 12 is only available in China right now, and starts at 4,299 yuan (about $607).
We haven’t seen US or UK pricing floated around yet, but theOnePlus 11sold for $699 or $799, depending on the configuration. It seems we may be in the ballpark for about the same prices or slightly higher given Chinese pricing for the OnePlus 12.
OnePlus 12 design
The OnePlus 12 has a familiar glass-and-metal design, rated IP65 against water and dust intrusion, that closely resembles the OnePlus 11.
The OnePlus 11’s circular “hob” or “stove” containing Hasselblad-branded cameras is carried over on the OnePlus 12 with a mix of three shooters and some auxiliary sensors and flash bulbs for good measure. We’ll detail the capabilities of that imaging prowess in a moment.
Fans of the classic alert slider will be pleased to know that it is present on the device, but on the left side instead of the right this time. The company says this is to make way for better antenna placement to achieve the maximum boost in connectivity possible when gaming mode is turned on.
OnePlus 12 display
OnePlus, Oppo, and display manufacturer BOE held ajoint press conferencein late October to reveal more information about the displays that will feature on both the OnePlus 12. BOE calls its latest panel tech X1, boasting about the A+ mark it got from DisplayMate for the screen’s exceptional brightness and color accuracy. Exceptional is the right word, too: OnePlus claims the display on the OnePlus 12 can achieve a maximum brightness of 4,500 nits - much higher than the 2,600 nits mentioned at that October presser and much, much higher than the OnePlus 11’s 1,300 nits.
It’s also said to be much more efficient, consuming 13% less power than the previous generation of display. At the same time, it will come with per-pixel calibrating technology to ensure that the entire display shows accurate colors with less grain. Just like the last model, this display offers a variable refresh rate that goes all the way from 1Hz to 120Hz. This helps to conserve battery life while ensuring the display is buttery smooth while scrolling.

OnePlus 12 specs and features
OnePlus is likely to be the first brand to launch a phone in the west sporting the latestSnapdragon 8 Gen 3chipset, announced at Qualcomm’sSnapdragon Tech Summitin October.
OnePlus president Li Jie said in aWeibo postthat the OnePlus 12 is designed to “surpass the Pro version of all Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 mobile phones,” so the company is obviously confident about its treatment of the silicon. Pre-release GeekBench 6 results for the device as relayed by91Mobileshad it logging 2,169 in single-core testing and 6,501 in the multi-core testing. Comparatively, the OnePlus 11 scored 1,493 in single-core, and 5,112 in multi-core, so this is quite the uplift in performance. The phone has also appeared on the AnTuTu database, scoring a whopping 2,110,808 points, beating theSnapdragon 8 Gen 2-powered OnePlus 11 at 1,027,699. Time will tell if users will materially feel the difference, though.
OnePlus has stuck with two memory configurations for its flagship phones in the west: 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage and 16/256. It’s not clear if we’ll see change on this front this cycle, but it’d certainly be a nice improvement. In China, the base model comes with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM with the premium version bursting at the seams with 24GB.
There’s a 5,400mAh battery that supports wireless charging of up to 50W and wired charging of up to 100W. These top limits may change depending on the region.
OnePlus 12 camera
Sony’s all-new Lytia LYT-808 sensor, as seen on theXiaomi 14 ProandOnePlus Open, has made its way to the OnePlus. It’s been grouped up with a 48MP ultra-wide camera and a 64MP Omnivision telephoto camera that’s double the resolution of the unit on the OnePlus 11 and can achieve a 3x zoom factor. Both main and telephoto sensors are optically stabilized and there are dual-tone LEDs to serve up flash when needed. Hasselblad puts in some digital magic to tune color. The selfie camera is 32MP.
