Kaido’s saga may have been seen to end inOne Piece, but fans are far from convinced that his story is truly over. Eiichiro Oda is known for weaving intricate backstories and long-running mysteries he is also famous for not being able to kill any of his beloved characters.

The author may have left subtle hints about Kaido’s origins, which will make him relevant in the final saga – particularly his potential connection to Elbaph royalty. This is possible due to the latest chapter revealing the appearance of the Giant King of Elbaph, Harold.
Kaido: King of Beasts and the prince of Elbaph
Harold was murdered by Loki, his legitimate son, to obtain thepower of the Devil Fruitpassed down through the royal bloodline. Harolds-‘s appearance is strikingly similar to that of Kaido’s, forcing us to wonder if there’s any secret connection we don’t yet know of.
There is a theory gaining traction on social media that suggests that Kaido’s father was, indeed, Harold. This makes more sense when we consider Kaido’s lineage as a member of the Oni tribe. While the Oni is described as being a rare offshoot of giants, Kaido’s comparatively smaller size clearly suggests he isn’t a full-blooded giant.

So, could Kaido, the feared King of Beasts, be linked to the royal lineage of giants as the second prince after Loki? Kaido could be the illegitimate son of Harold. If Harold fathered Loki and Kaido, it would make them half-brothers, with Kaido being a “bastard” son, not a pure giant. Loki’s age makes this a plausibility.
“No one likes this type of character progression”: The Cutest ‘One Piece’ Character Was Robbed of Being the Knight in Shining Armor
The resemblance between Kaido and Harold is striking as both characters share similar facial features, and Kaido’s Oni heritage could be tied to the mysterious royal bloodlines of Elbaph.
Oda could not bear to kill an antagonist halfway
Oda’stendency to flesh out the histories of major villains lends credibility to this idea, especially since for a hyped antagonist, Kaido went away too quickly and easily.
Kaido is no doubt one of the most powerful figures in the series, and it seems like an anomaly in the fact that his past has not been chalked out, andhe is already supposed to be dead.

While we’ve seen glimpses of his rise to power and his dream of creating a land of chaos, there’s a massive gap in understanding where he comes from and what led him on the path in the beginning.

A connection to Elbaph would not only enrich Kaido’s character but also tie him into one of the most anticipated arcs in the series. This might even signifythe return of the former Emperor, finally giving him a fitting end.
