Celebrating the release of the Mortal Shell DLC The Virtuous Cycle on August 18th, Cold Symmetry have announced it will be free to download for five days.
The first year anniversary ofMortal Shellwill be celebrated with the release of the new roguelike expansionThe Virtuous Cycle. Developer Cold Symmetry has announced that the DLC will be free to download for five days.

That’s right, you can download and keep the DLC for free when you download it betweenAugust 18th to August 23rd. This means you can gain the new roguelike mode, new playable shell, and new transforming axe-katana weapon at no cost.
Once the promotion is over, the DLC will be available for MSRP of $7.99 / €6.99 / £6.99.
Those who wish to take advantage of the promotion for The Virtuous Cycle can do so from August 18th on Playstation 5, Playstation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Epic Games Store, and GOG.COM.
The Head of PC and Console at Mortal Shell’s publisher Kiron Ramdewar explains they wanted to give something back to fans:
Since we launched Mortal Shell back in August 2020 we have been thinking about how to give our fans something truly special that demonstrates our sincere appreciation for their support.
Players should note in order to play The Virtuous Cycle expansion they must own the Mortal Shell base game.
In case you missed it The Virtuous Cycle DLC will add a new playableShellcalledHadern. The fifth shell to join the game, Hadern has a unique skill tree that unlocks a number of new talents, from dagger mastery to the ability to absorb punishment. You will also get to experience the new roguelike feature and a new transformingWeaponcalledThe Axatana.

That’s not all for Mortal Shell goodies, the Twitch Drops campaign is now underway offering players some rare and special in-game rewards for the new expansion on Twitch.
