Asymmetrical horror gameDead by Daylighthas opened up the Pandora’s Box of future chapter and character possibilities. By introducing its 35th chapter,Tokyo Ghoul, and Ken Kaneki as the newest killer on the roster, the game’s developers have proven that they aren’t afraid of crossing into previously uncharted territory: the world of manga and anime.
There have been cosmetic crossovers in the past, like the Attack on Titan collaboration in 2022 that brought new cosmetics for both killers and survivors, but the newest Tokyo Ghoul chapter is the first time in the game’s history that a major update has been inspired by anime.

Dead by Daylight: How to Play as Ken Kaneki, Tokyo Ghoul Killer
Ken Kaneki is the newest killer introduced to the Dead by Daylight roster. He originates from the anime/manga Tokyo Ghoul.
And since we like to think that there areplentymore possibilities where Tokyo Ghoul came from, we’ve compiled a list of some of the anime characters we’dloveto see make an appearance some day in the future.

The following characters are shared in no particular order.
6Elfen Lied — Lucy
Diclonius Abilities Would Make for a Brutal Killer Kit
Lucy, the main character from the 2004 anime Elfen Lied, has the makings of a killer that could be manipulated by the Entity: She is capable of murder and already has a hatred and distrust of humans. She is a Diclonius, an evolutionary offshoot of the human race despised and feared by ordinary humans, and with that comes superhuman abilities.
Lucy’s most notable ability is her invisible arms (“vectors”), which she can telekinetically maneuver at will. These “arms” are able to move, punch, and cut through people with ease, so survivors that try to run away from her would not be able to escape too easily.

9 Franchises That Need A Dead By Daylight Crossover
What can Dead by Daylight give to the horror fan that has everything? We have some ideas.
Her invisible “arms” are also capable of moving and manipulating objects around her, so, in addition to what we’d imagine her main ability would be - using these telekinetic “arms” to grab onto and to inflict damage on survivors - it would also be cool to see her be able to break pallets or walls from afar.

5Psycho Pass — Makishima
Using Criminal Detection System Against Survivors
Shogo Makishima is the main antagonist of Psycho-Pass, driven by his goal to liberate Japanese society from the Sibyl System, a law enforcement organization that tracks and analyzes the crime tendencies of everyone in the country using a number of Crime Coefficients (indicators). People that reach a dangerous level are typically hunted down before a major crime can be committed.
Makishima himself, however, is a wolf in sheep’s clothing. He has dark desires and diabolical intentions, but he can manipulate and control his Psycho-Pass at will, so even though he has murdered people, he flies under the radar of the Sibyl System and is able to do his dark deeds (mostly) undetected.

In the Entity’s realm, we’d imagine that just as Makishima is able to manipulate his own Psycho-Pass, he would have the ability to manipulate the Psycho-Pass of survivors. As a survivor’s Crime Coefficient raises throughout the match, they’d ultimately be exposed to Makishima, who would be able to hunt them down and dispose of them to earn the Entity’s favor.
4Death Note — Light Yagami
Use the Death Note to Expose Survivors
No surprise to find Death Note on this list: It has long been requested and theorized by fans about how the world of Death Note and Dead by Daylight could collide into one, and you can add this author to the list of those who would like to see it come to fruition.
Light Yagami is a character most people are likely familiar with, but if you need a refresher, Light one day finds a mysterious notebook on the grounds at his school, the “Death Note.” The Death Note states that if a human’s name is written on its pages, that person will die. Despite being skeptical of it at first, Light realizes that the “Death Note” is in fact very real, and he wishes to use it to become a new God of the world.
The Death Note itself could be an interesting power in the Entity’s realm, and can be used in a way that survivors can become “marked” by the Death Note. When marked, survivors could suffer from a range of status effects, including the dangerous one-hit-to-kill “Exposed” status effect. If we wanted to bereallylore-accurate, then survivors “marked” by the Death Note could even have a timer placed on them, counting down to when they receive an injured or dying state, but we imagine that might be a little too over-powered.
3Demon Slayer — Muzan Kibutsuji
This Demon King’s Cruelty Could Benefit the Entity
The main antagonist of Demon Slayer, Muzan Kibutsuji is regarded as the Demon King, the originator of all other demons in existence. Despite his incredibly calm and monotone persona, Muzan is vicious and violent and sees little to no value in humankind, which would make him a perfect killer for the Entity. He has no qualms about killing humans or even killing other demons of his kind if they go against him. In fact, his power and his capability for cruelty could rival that of any other killer we currently have in Dead by Daylight.
Dead By Daylight: 9 Best Killer Perks
The killer meta is constantly changing, but the goal remains the same: stop generators. Keep survivors from escaping. Earn the Entity’s good graces.
Ability-wise, Muzan can turn his body into a weapon, creating whips from his flesh that could lash out and strike survivors from a distance. Being the Demon King, Muzan is also incredibly fast and strong, so it would be nice to see that power incorporated into a passive speed boost or a killer perk that increases the speed of other actions such as breaking pallets and generators.
2Wolf’s Rain — Lord Darcia III
Take on Wolf Form to Down Survivors
This author will stand by the statement that not only is Wolf’s Rain criminally underrated, but that the main antagonist from that manga/anime, Lord Darcia III, would make an excellent killer in the Entity’s realm. For those of you that are unfamiliar with the story: Wolf’s Rain is the story of wolves who live in a time when wolves are thought to have been hunted to extinction, and the few wolves that are left can cast an illusion of a human form to blend in with society.
A select number of wolves gather together on a journey to find what is believed to be “Paradise.” Lord Darcia III is the last in a family of nobles who has been cursed by wolves - his left eye has been replaced by a golden wolf’s eye. As such, he can also transform into a large black wolf.
It would be interesting to have a killer like Lord Darcia III on the Dead By Daylight roster: a killer who can strategically hunt from the shadows and, when he’s ready to strike, assume his giant wolf form to take down a survivor and go in for the kill.
1Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure — Yoshikage Kira
Serial Killer that Lurks from the Shadows
Kira is a serial killer who lurked and committed his deadly deeds in Morioh for years undisturbed. His routine is only disturbed when the ghost of his first victim begs the Joestar Group to look for him. He has a peaceful and calm demeanor and has shown to be incredibly intelligent. Beneath that facade, however, is a man with frequent murderous impulses, with many of his victims being women. Able to visually transform into his “Stand,” as Killer Queen, Kira can create explosives with pinpoint accuracy.
Ability-wise, we imagine he would be another stealth killer on the roster of Dead by Daylight. He could work from the shadows and, when the time is right, assume the form of Killer Queen to target survivors with dangerous explosives that could damage and disorient them. His primary weapon could be something small, like a knife, that he’d use to finish the job.
