Ahead of the launch of the next-gen consoles,Marvel’s Avengersis one of the most anticipated new releases heading to stores this week across consoles and PC. Featuring Earth’s Mightiest Heroes banding together to face off their numerous foes, the title has a lot in store for players over the coming months post-launch, with a new stream giving us a peek into what is coming down the line.

During its latest War Table livestreamto coincide with its launch week, Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics shared some new reveals at what’s ahead forMarvel’s Avengers. Specifically, the stream showcased what to expect from the game after its launch, including new content, additional features, and a new playable Hero.

It’s worth noting that at the top of the stream, Crystal Dynamics and Square paid tribute to Chadwick Boseman, the star of Marvel’sBlack Pantherwhotragically passed away last weekfrom colon cancer at the age of 43. The stream offered a moment of silence and a tribute for Boseman in the wake of his death. Additionally, the stream detailed that “out of respect for a fallen true hero,” the contents of the stream were altered from what was originally meant to be shown. Presumably, it seems like Black Panther was intended to be revealed as the next post-launch hero for the game, but the announcement seems to be coming at a later point to pay respects for Boseman’s passing.

The rest of the stream revealed that Kate Bishop will be the next Hero added toMarvel’s Avengersas part of the game’s first “Operation” mission, which will introduce new storyline events into the game. Previously it was announced thatHawkeye would be one of the first new Heroes added to the game, so it makes sense that Kate Bishop would be there along with him.

Additionally, the War Table stream highlighted the other modes and features that players will be able to take part in after the game’s launch later this week. Specifically, the stream detailed the various multiplayer modes in “Avengers Initiative,” including the new Shield Substation Zero location featuring Maria Hill as an NPC. Other footage showed the Mega Hive missions, which seems to be a horde mode mission where players take on increasingly difficult waves of enemies as a team. Aim Secret Labs were also shown during the stream, which seem to be the equivalent of raids inMarvel’s Avengersthat has players taking on a specialized mission with high-level gear and characters.

Marvel’s Avengerswill release for PS4, Xbox One, Google Stadia, and PC on June 12, 2025, and is available now for those with the Deluxe Edition. The game will also be coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X at a later date.
