Summary
Lord of the Rings' Legolas comes to life in a new cosplay, which faithfully recreates the Elf’s costume and weapons. Released in 2001, the first installment in Peter Jackson’s hit trilogy introduces audiences toThe Lord of the Ringscastmembers like Elijah Wood, Viggo Mortensen, and Ian McKellen, among others, who help flesh out the world of Middle-earth. Orlando Bloom’s Legolas, an archer Elf, plays a key role in all three films in the trilogy, and the character even returned in the latter two installments of Jackson’sThe Hobbittrilogy.
CosplayerAlyson Tabbithanow recreates Legolas' look fromThe Lord of the Rings, complete with his iconic Elven bow. Check it out below:

The video features a look at Tabbitha before the transformation and after, with the cosplayer using makeup to achieve Bloom’s general facial structure. Great attention to detail is shown with the costume and props as well, which both look very similar to what is featured in Jackson’s films.
Will Legolas Return In A Future Lord Of The Rings Movie?
Why It’s Not Off The Table
WhenThe Lord of the Rings: The Return of the Kingended, it seemed like audiences had seen the last of characters played by Wood, Mortensen, Bloom, McKellen, among others. Indeed, many actors from the trilogy have not reprised their roles, but Wood, Bloom, McKellen, and Andy Serkis all did forThe Hobbittrilogy. With several newLord of the Ringsmovies on the horizon, it’s possible some familiar faces could return once more.
The next live-action movie in the franchise is thein-developmentThe Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum, which will see Serkis directing and starring. No other actors have been confirmed for the movie just yet, but the film is expected to take place during the events ofThe Fellowship of the Ring. If Tolkien’s appendices are anything to go by, the movie could chronicle Aragorn and Gandalf’s attempts to capture Gollum, meaning these two characters might return.

Another new installment in the franchise is set to come later this year withThe Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim, an anime.
Considering Aragorn’s quest to apprehend Gollum takes place before the Council of Elrond and what is seemingly his first meeting with Legolas, there’s no obvious place for Bloom’s character in the film. The Hunt for Gollumis, however, only one of the new live-actionLord of the Ringsmovies in the works, meaning it’s still possible Legolas could return. Whether Legolas makes a comeback or not, though, the latest cosplay certainly suggests that love for Bloom’s original iteration of the character lives on.
