After a three-year wait, the return of the alternative historical thrillerHuntersis just around the corner. The renegade Nazi-hunters’ plot to take down Adolf Hitler continues in the second and final season of the Monkeypaw-produced series. The season finale from season one left viewers with more questions than answers, especially as it pertains to the fate of the eclectic hunters.
The show’s popularity quickly soared in 2020, resulting in a renewal just six months after it premiered. Part of what fueled the fandom forHuntersstems fromthe series’ approach to heroism. In the revisionist dystopian reality, our Hunters are everyday people without power, status, or riches who have the opportunity to pick up the mantle and fight against a common evil – in this case, a covert Nazi regime within the United States. Now, audiences have their first glimpse into the circumstances following season one’s fallout and The Fourth Reich’s insidious plans with the release of theHunters’official season two trailer.

The almost three-minute-long trailer confirms that the final season’s story picks up right where the previous one left off, which ended in a mind-blowing plot twist that unraveled the Nazi-hunting team. “You bring Hitler to justice, and it’s done, Jonah. You can finally be free,” statesAl Pacino’sMeyer Offerman, former leader of the Hunters, at the trailer’s beginning. Jonah Heidelbaum – portrayed by Logan Lerman – is plagued by the premonitory feeling that Hitler is still alive, apparently living in South America.
His caution is warranted since the end of season one revealed Hitler is living in Argentina with Eva Braun and their four identical Aryan children. Last month’steaserintroduced German actorUdo Kierwho is portraying the infamous dictator on-screen. The trailer’s action-fueled scenes showcase the reassembly of the Hunters, which now includes some new members. The stakes are much higher as the team attempts to take down Hitler and The Fourth Reich before they can implement their genocidal plan. The ragtag team will have to lay everything down on the line in the pursuit of justice.

Season two features the return of the original ensemble cast Jerrika Hinton, Lena Olin, Josh Radnor, Tiffany Boone, Carol Kane, Louis Ozawa, Kate Mulvany, and Greg Austin. New additions to the cast include Jennifer Jason Leigh (The Hateful Eight), Emily Rudd (Fear Street), and Tommy Martinez (Riverdale).David Weilserves as the series creator and executive producer.
