Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is already one of the highest-rated titles of 2025, a breathtaking turn-based RPG with stunning visuals and standout character designs. It looks great on any platform, but it shines especially well on PC. However, despite the excellent presentation, the cutscenes are capped at 30 FPS.
This odd framerate lock during cutscenes can be quite distracting, especially if you have a higher refresh rate display. Thankfully, this isn’t anything new for Lyall from the PC modding community, who has already released a patch that removes the 30 FPS cap in the Clair Obscur Expedition 33 cutscenes.

Remove the 30 FPS Cap in Clair Obscur Expedition 33 Cutscenes
The ClairObscurFix from Lyall does a few useful things, but its main use is to unlock the 30 FPS cap during the cutscenes in Clair Obscur Expedition 33.
Installing the patch is pretty straightforward:
Once you have extracted the zip file, the cutscenes should correctly match the possible framerate attainable by your system, or if you have applied any internal or external cap.
I tested the patch myself, and the fix works as intended, removing the 30 FPS cap from the cutscenes, bringing it closer to the regular presentation.

In addition to removing the framerate cap, ClairObscurFix comes with the following features as well:
All these fixes are enabled by default once you apply the patch.
All credits go toLyallfor creating and testing the patch. Their contributions are incredibly helpful for PC gamers, and you’re able to learn about their work on theirPatreonorKo-fi pages.
I recommend keeping an eye on the releases tab of the patch for any potential future additions. Lyall has been known to update their patches over time with new features.
