Crafting Lockpicks
Materials are readily available and can be obtained early in the game.
The first thing you’ll want to do when starting to craft your lockpicks is to head to the Secondhand Shop. Here you’ll want to buy three materials in bulk, allowing you to get as many lockpicks as possible. Make sure to purchase the following materials as soon as you can.

Now that you have all of your materials sorted out, you can head back to your house and use the Workbench in your room. In the workbench menu, you only need to select the lockpicks and the amount you’d like to craft. Creating a bulk amount is advised, with 10 being the ideal amount to carry around while you explore palaces. This ensures that you’ll be able to unlock every locked chest in the palace and secure the best loot it has to offer.
Make sure to also work at stores to make some extra yen to regularly buy materials from the Secondhand Shop so you can craft new items as you need them.
Where to Use Lockpicks
Finding locked chests will be where you’ll use these lockpicks.
With lockpicks in hand, you may now explore without worrying about keeping track of where these chests will be located. When you see a chest with an abnormal glow and a secondary prompt with a lockpick, you’ll know you have the right chest.
These chests are going to have a variety of very good items that you’ll want as you progress through your adventure. With training materials, weapon reinforcement materials, Konpaku Gems, Meta Jewels, and 4-Star Weapons in the loot table for these chests. While opening these will cost some money to craft the required lockpicks, they are worth the investment to gain more levels for your Phantom Thieves.
