I’ve wasted several hours playing Helldivers 2 when playing missions that result in me being level zero and gaining no rewards or XP. If you’re in the same boat, here’s how to fix the no XP error in Helldivers 2.
How to fix level zero no XP bug in Helldivers 2
The no rewards, no XP bug in Helldivers 2 is signified by finishing a mission and seeing that you and your squad arelisted as being level zero. There’s no other way to know you have the no XP glitch until the end of a mission which is a huge bummer. You haven’t actually been demoted to level zero, but it’s a sign you have been bitby a bugthat won’t give you anything for completing a mission.
Sadly, I’ve gotten this bug on three missions. From my own experience and from what I’ve learned on the internet, there is no way to fix the no XP bug in Helldivers 2. This is a devastating server error that Arrowhead Games needs to fix themselves. However, there are a few temporary fixes that worked for a few players.
Restart or have your rewards catch up
Players have reported thatrestarting and watching the entire opening cutscenebefore logging into the game can fix thisbug. Others have reported thatthe XP and rewards from past missions have caught up to themafter playing for a few hours. In both of these situations and in my own experience, these two fixeshaven’t worked for all players.
Play the opposite online mode
What seems to be the best fix right now isplaying a solo game if you were in a multiplayer lobby or vice versa. Players have reported that playing the opposite mode of whatever mode gave them the bug has helped to eliminate the level zero error. It’s worth a try.
Ultimately, this bug will plague the gameuntil Arrowhead Games fixes it. It’s extremely unfortunate because this bug is currently keeping me from wanting to go back in and play. For now, keep a weather eye on theArrowhead Games Twitter(or X) to see when a patch for this bug comes and learnhow to find Samples in-game.
