How to beat the Stormcaller Boss inSea of Stars

The Stormcaller is no joke, thanks to one particularly nasty attack he can unleash. I’ll get to that in a moment, but here’s what you’re up against.

Stormcaller has no real weaknesses but doesn’t have any resistances either, so any attacks work. His primary attack does around 40 Damage to a single target, so expect this if you don’t see a cast bar.

The small 5-block Cast Bar is for an AoE attack called Chain Lightning. The Bar is breakable with good timing. It’s also completely negated by Valere’sLunar Shield. Using this ability is fine, but you may needMooneranglater, so watch your MP.

The nasty attack I mentioned earlier has an 8-block Cast Bar and is hard to break. Sarai’sDisorientcan buy a couple of turns if you need them. Even then, you’ll need perfect timing to land every hit you need.

you’re able to use clever combinations like Boosted Solstice Strike Comboes to land the required hits. Just beware of over-committing, as you’ll still need resources afterward.

How to deal with the Ruler of Tides

If you don’t stop the attack, Stormcaller uses an ability calledRuler of Tides. This spell summons a giant sea monster to attack your team. The serpent engulfs your team in flames and does a horrific amount of damage to everyone. The attack is very tough to block, and there’s no timing cue.

Oddly enough,Lunar Shieldonly reduces damage taken instead of negating it. It’s still a solid defensive ability but won’t save weak party members.

The most challenging element of this battle is managing this attack. If you can’t break it, you need enough health to survive and either GarlsNourishor food to recover. Swap party members whenever necessary and ensure there’s enough MP to go around. As long as you focus on defense first and land pokey attacks when you can, you’ll be triumphant in the end.

Stormcaller is the most dangerous opponent you’ve faced so far. If you’re struggling, check out our guide to Relicsand see if you need them to survive.
