DC’sJustice Leaguewas a film that went through some turbulent times. After a few lukewarm DCU films, Zack Snyder’s lofty vision for bringing the celebrated team of superheroes alive on screen was expected to be a shot in the arm for the franchise. With Joss Whedon stepping in midway and the cast not seeing eye to eye with his method of operation, Justice League suffered in its storytelling and turned out to be a miss at the box office.

With the ongoing tussle between fans within DC, it remains to be seen if James Gunn’s vision for the franchise will live upto his fans’ expectations despite the director making many bold changes as part of DC’s facelift.

What is Zack Snyder’s Future With the DCU?
With distinct James Gunn and Zack Snyder camps sparring on the internet following Gunn’s position as DC head, speculation has been rife about the possibility of Snyder’s continued involvement with the franchise and the DCU. In an early statement, Gunn spoke about touching base with Snyder following his visions to create a completely new look for DC and the characters.
“[Snyder] contacted me to express his support about my choices. He’s a great guy. Again, he seems really happy with the massive world building he’s doing now.”
Gunn was quick to point out though that there were no immediate plans for Snyder to get involved in the DCU or to take Gunn’s vision for the franchise to the next level. The director and DC head was critical of Snyder evangelists who were averse to accepting change and growth in their unflinching support for theMan of Steeldirector.
