The tabletop RPG For the King 2 has a new trailer which features the dungeon-crawling combat, turn-based exploration and a few new features. The short but sweet trailer teases players will be getting landboats in the sequel. There are also pets that can be recruited to join you in battle.

The sequel wasfirst announced last year, which set 2023 as the release year. As you’d expect the second title will continue to have the core features of the first. However, the sequel will have players face the kingdom of Fahrul’s queen 20 years later after the events of the first. For The King 2 looks to have some fun new additions such as “otherworldly pets”. How many recruitable types are unknown, but could provide a nice shake-up to the game. There also looks to be a familiar threat the Hangman returning.

Developer IronOak Games previously revealed that you will be able to team up with up to 4 players in co-op this time around. There will be plenty to explore with new biomes as well as an update art style keeping the game fresh. This version puts an emphasis on strategic decision-making, making it much more customisable. It includes classes, armor and weapon options so players will have further choice in choosing the best set-up for their adventure. Combat has become even more unforgiving.

For the King 2 will be coming to PC sometime in 2023.
