The Masked Stranger uses aSpicy Coaltana, a powerful tier 3 weapon that appliesSizzlingto your character that can quickly build into a boil the more she hits you. Once again, theRoach Armor Setis the best option due to the full set granting youAdaptive Resistance.This armor-set ability grants you damage resistance againstVenom, Chill, or Sizzle, and stacks up to five times. Another alternative set for you to use is theButterfly Armor Set,which gives you theChilly Dodgeability. This ability works together with staves and adds chill to your dodges against your nearby enemies. TheSizzling Armor setalso adds more protection against Sizzling, but unlike the Roach Armor Set, it does not provide you with any resistance against venom, which will be the second half of the boss fight.
The Glacial StingappliesFreshto your attacks, one of the Masked Strangers' only weaknesses currently known. This stave pairs well with theButterfly ArmorandRoach Armor Set,depending on preference. Be aware that your attacks can also damage any party members who come with you, so watch your aim. A good alternative is theMantis Blade, which is currently the best two-handed weapon in-game. If you defeatedLieutenant Bladeearlier, you should have enough mantis drops to craft it. If you want a weapon to swap with to fightBandit, go for theScorching Orb Staveor theHeatwave Stave.

The Masked Stranger Strategy
Unlike the bugs,The Masked Strangerhas the same build and height as the player teen character. She will size the character up with hercoaltana,blocking her face before she performs either a jump ground slam attack or a double to triple slash attack. When she jumps up, dodge backwards out of her grasp and kite when she slashes or perfect block to stun her. Be aware that any hit that lands, blocked or direct head-on, will start the sizzling build-up, so have a fewMintitoson your hot bar for quick access.
At half health, she will gain a few invincibility frames and heal back to full, becoming powered up and more aggressive. Her ground pound from earlier will gain a visible fire AOE, and theMasked Strangerwill also block less, going in for the kill more often. Use your bandages while she blocks to rebuild your health regen or eat a granola bar to offset the sizzle if you run out of minitos.
Bandit (Phase 2)
You won’t get to fully defeat theMasked Strangeras before you have the chance, she will disappear from the fight and summon her pet Wolf Spider,Bandit,to deal with you. Bandit has a major weakness to spicy-based attacks, so the staves mentioned earlier will give you a good advantage. Bandit will attack with its powerful legs and smash into the player while biting them to deal venom built up to trickle your health away.
Drink aScorpidoteto reduce the venom build-up and attack at Bandit’s legs and rear to stun it. Be aware that Bandit can inflict venom twice in a row, which may ruin your resource management if you aren’t vigilant. With a hefty health bar, Bandit is a tricky final stretch, but if you have your stave and keep your distance, you’ll be able to whittle him down to victory. Upon death, he will immediately break apart for you to collect.
