Players still enjoying the game onPC, Steam Deck, PS4, PS5, and Xboxwere expecting this, but the best part? It drops during the last week of July, just as we head into August 2025.

And it’s not coming alone. It arrives alongside version 1.02 ofNightreign, which brings “UI improvements to make the experience smoother,” including new relic filtering options, according to the publisher.
The wait for this highly-requested feature ends onJuly 30, 2025, when the mode officially goes live and introduces“Double Expeditions”into the Soulslike.

Most fans are thrilled, and the overall feeling is unanimous:“Better late than never”or“Should’ve been there from day one”are just some of the top comments.
We’re leaving you with the trailer—it barely lasts a minute, but it’s more than enough to get excited.

Basically, it’s NPCs acting like real players exploring the world ofNightreigntogether.
Why Co-op Makes Sense Now
The game’s director even admitted that this feature was “overlooked” during development.
Just a month ago, the game hit 80% positive reviews on Steam—partly thanks to the promise that this co-op mode would arrive. It’s nice to see that promise fulfilled.
After all,Elden Ring Nightreignwas thebest-selling game in the U.S. during May 2025, and five Xbox titles made it into the PlayStation top 10 that month.
Nightreignmight be the hardest game FromSoftware has made—not because of the brutal bosses or the mechanics you need to master to get through a run…
But because to enjoy it the right way, you need friends. Friends who are just as crazy about Souls games as you are.
