Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroeshas a large selection of colorful characters to join you on your adventure through the story the game will give you. When you first start the game, you are going to be tasked with finding some new recruits to join your group. The first ones you’ll want to find right off the bat are Mellore, Yume, and Francesca. These three characters can be all be found in Grum County area during the start of the game. Mellore will be the easiest to find right away as you’ll get several scenes with her as you make your way out of the starting town, Eltisweiss.

Mellore is the Eiyuden Chronicle resident Magical Girl. In her own words, she fights for “Love and Justice”. Mellore is a spell caster that deals “light” damage to enemies. She can protect herself with a temporary shield and can also provide solid damage from the party backline.

Mellore

When you leave the Eltisweiss inn for the first time, she will approach you near the south entrance to town seeking help with locating Redthroat Ridge. you’re able to explore the town and upgrade your gear if you haven’t already. She’ll still be by the entrance when you get back from exploring. She’ll speak with a soldier nearby, and you’ll overhear that she’s heading east towards Redthroat Ridge. Leave town and take the path east to Redthroat Ridge. Mellore will be at the entrance of the dungeon, and you will automatically speak with her when you enter. After the dialogue at the start of the Redthroat Ridge entrance, Mellore will join your adventure. After the boss of Redthroat Ridge, Mellore will offer to join the team for good.

Yume and Friend

Yume and Friend are a combination of characters and, as such, they are registered as “large” when in your party. This means that they will take up two slots to make up for having two characters combined into one. Yume and Friend can also only attack in the frontline of the party and deal “smash” damage, meaning that if they are in the backline they cannot execute attacks. Like other offense-based characters, Yume and Friend can use a guard ability to only take half of the normal damage from an attack for a turn as well.

After you help Mellore at Redthroat Ridge, you’re able to travel to Werne Village. Near the entrance there is an elderly woman looking for her granddaughter, Yume. You’ll be told that Yume has gone to the mountains nearby to play with her friends and that there were sightings of monsters in that area after Yume had left. The Mountain Path to the west of Werne Village will be blocked by a landslide at this time, so head back to Redthroat Ridge to the east for the next part to find Yume. Yume and her friend will be at the first part of Redthroat Ridge, just a short walk from the entrance. Yume is seeking help with finding her mother and will join the party in hopes of eventually finding her. You can go back to Werne Village and speak with her grandma as well as add Yume to the party at the Werne Village inn.

Yume

Francesca is the healer you’ll need to keep your party’s health up without spending tons of money on healing items. Her rune-lens allows you to cast Healing Drops to heal a single character for 10 MP, Water Veil to increase magical defense for 20 MP, or Recovery Wave to heal all allies for 40 MP. All of her healing abilities are extremely nice to have on your side. Francesca can also use melee attacks on the frontline enemies with “smash” damage. For defense, she can cast a shield to mitigate damage from enemies.

Francesca can be found in the upper west side of Altverden Village. You’ll be met with a cutscene of a woman shouting at some nearby thugs. This is where you will meet Francesca, another recruitable character for your party. There will be some brief dialogue as the characters become acquainted with one another. Francesca is looking to join the watch as a healer, but before she can join you some thugs will show up to stir up some trouble. But to our amusement, Francesca will berate the thugs into running away and will then offer to join the party. Tell her that she has a place within the party, and then she will now be available as a healer for the group.
