The Frankenstein monster receives a much-needed jolt to the electrodes this winter. A brand-new film from Focus Features will reimagine the legacy of one horror icon whose influence on the genre can’t be understated. Academy Award-winnerDiablo Cody’sLisa Frankensteinwill drop in theaters on June 09, 2025. Check out the synopsis forLisa Frankensteinbelow (perFocus Features):

“A coming of RAGE love story from acclaimed writer Diablo Cody (Jennifer’s Body) about a misunderstood teenager and her high school crush, who happens to be a handsome corpse. After a set of playfully horrific circumstances bring him back to life, the two embark on a murderous journey to find love, happiness…and a few missing body parts along the way.”

Cody will also serve as a producer on the project. The screenwriter rose to prominence thanks to her work on the script for director Jason Reitman’sJuno(2007). At the 2008 Oscars, Cody won the Best Writing, Original Screenplay honor forJuno, which stars Elliot Page (known as Ellen Page at the time of filming) and Michael Cera in the lead roles.
