Set 100 years before theStar Warsmovies,The Acolyteportrays a different incarnation of the Jedi Order, yet one that foreshadows its ultimate fate in the prequel trilogy. The Jedi are noble in their pursuit of justice, butThe Acolyteisn’t afraid to address their flaws, hinting at the titular character’s motivation for hunting them down.

The series does include one preexisting Jedi:Master Vernestra Rwoh, who first appeared in severalStar Wars: The High Republicbooks. This era of theStar Warscanon timeline is known for portraying the Jedi Order at its best, so featuring an older Master Rwoh as the only remaining Jedi from that time effectively symbolizes how the Order is entering a dark age. Besides Master Rwoh,The Acolytehas introduced 10 new Jedi, with plenty more set to appear in future episodes.

10Indara

Episode 1 “Lost / Found”

The first Jedi to appear onscreen inThe Acolyteis Master Indara, confronted by a mysterious assassin. Although displaying exceptional skill with and without a lightsaber, Master Indara is ultimately killed when she leaves herself open to save an innocent bystander.Indara was the Master who recommended that Osha Aniseya’s Jedi training be terminatedyears earlier, making the former Padawan a suspect in her murder.

9Osha Aniseya

Osha Aniseya was taken in by the Jedi at eight years oldwhen her family was killed, but she walked away from the Order six years before the start ofThe Acolyte. She is arrested for bearing a striking resemblance to the woman who killed Master Indara, leading to the shocking discovery that her twin sister, Mae Aniseya, is alive and hunting Jedi. Osha blames Mae for the death of their family and is more determined than ever to bring her sister to justice.

Anakin Skywalker was accepted by the Jedi at nine years old though, like Osha, it was a controversial decision.

8Yord Fandar

A capable Jedi Knight eager to prove himself,Yord Fandar is tasked with arresting Osha Aniseya. He is highly suspicious of Osha, even when Sol tells him she can be trusted, demonstrating his tendency to assume the worst in others. Despite his mistrust, he clears her name when she is found near a dead Jedi and proves himself a worthy ally.

7Tasi Lowa

Tasi Lowa is Yord Fandar’s Padawan learner, accompanying him to arrest Osha Aniseya. Yord is shaken by Osha’s apparent betrayal, while Tasi is direct and to the point regarding the charges against her. She and her master appear to make an effective team, complimenting each other despite their differences.

6Sol

Sol was the Jedi Master who saved Osha Aniseya as a child and trained her as a Jedi. His fellow Jedi note his attachment to her despite Jedi creed, though it motivates him to track down the real killer and prove her innocence.Sol is determined to save Mae Aniseya after failing to save her as a child, and he is frustrated with the Jedi Council’s insistence on adhering to procedure when he knows where she’ll go next.

5Jecki Lon

Jecki Lon is a shy yet bold and astute Jedi Padawanassigned to accompany Master Sol and Yord Fandor. Although she is suspicious of Osha Aniseya, she is not as distrustful as Yord and quickly befriends the former Jedi. She often proves her resourcefulness by brainstorming plans and getting to the heart of a problem.

4Torbin

Episode 2 “Revenge / Justice”

A Jedi Master who has spoken to no one in years,Torbin remains in meditation with an impenetrable Force shield around him. However, when confronted by Mae Aniseya, he willingly takes his own life out of guilt for an unknown crime he committed the day she was presumed dead.

3Olega Master

An unnamed Jedi Master at the Temple on Olega who assists the Coruscant Jedi in their investigation. His brief surprise at Jedi from Coruscant coming to their Temple hints at possible resentment from those farther out in the galaxy and maybe unofficial Jedi factions.

2Olega Padawan

An unnamed Jedi Padawan at the Temple on Olega, given the unfortunate task of handling a misfit child and watching a shopkeeper in case Mae Aniseya were to return. Sadly, his momentary distraction results in Mae slipping away after learning the location of her next target.

1Kelnacca

A Wookiee Jedi Master, currently living at a retreat on the planet Khofar. When two scavengers come to pick his ship apart, Kelnacca uses his intimidating stature and a bit of the Force to send them on their way. Unfortunately, stopping Mae Aniseya will not be as simple, and she has made him her next target. Aniseya.
