As someone who loves nothing more than hearing the satisfying sound that comes with earning a platinum trophy, I’m always on the lookout for games that will give me that warm, fuzzy feeling without needing to work particularly hard to get it.
10 PS2 Games Better Than They Have Any Right To Be
Here are some incredible games that, on paper, seemed like they were destined for failure.
Every year is pretty generous when it comes to easy platinum trophies for respective hunters, but 2024 has been a particularly lucrative hunting ground for achievement addicts.

But it’s all about sourcing and uncovering those easy wins, and that’s easier said than done.
So, to help you get your first few 100% completions on the board for the new year, here are some easy platinum trophies you’ll want to seek out.

While it would be all too easy to list some terrible shovelware with easy trophy lists, we aren’t about to become a champion for that sort of thing. So, all games listed here will be platinum trophies that are easy to obtain but also offer a substantial gaming experience.
10Arranger: A Role-Playing Puzzle Game
Move Tiles With Style
Arranger: A Role-Puzzling Adventure
We kick things off with one of the most unique andcreative puzzle formats in recent memory. Arranger is a cute tile-based puzzler where you need to move tiles around to arrange items within the world, allowing you to help friends, reveal new paths, and take down static-powered monsters.
The game is visually striking and really milks this unique mechanic for everything it’s worth, and while the narrative is rather drab and generic, to say the least, I would still recommend this one, both to puzzle fans and platinum fans.

This is because this one can be 100% completed in less than ten hours, and aside from a few optional puzzles and miscellaneous missables to keep track of, it’s a very straightforward and stress-free process. So, if you’re a puzzle fan, this is a platinum you’ll want to pick up.
9Crow Country
Modern Meets Retro
Crow Country
I’m a sucker for a PS1 demake, so when I sawCrow Country hit the digital shelves, it was a match made in heaven. Truthfully, I came to this game for the promise of retro horror game design, with clever puzzles, clunky combat, and an eerie world to explore.
Now, the game does deliver on all of these promises. Don’t get me wrong. But the added bonus was that this game provides a very easy platinum to pick up in no time at all.

I would suggest a blind playthrough so you can enjoy the game first of all, as the runtime is little over 3-4 hours if you take your time. But, if you really want to hustle, with a guide, you can earn the Platinum in little over 2 hours.
The key is to heal rarely, save often, and find all fifteen secrets dotted around the theme park. Provided you can brave the horrors within and master those intentionally awkward shooting mechanics, you’ll have this one in the bag.

8Another Crab’s Treasure
As Hard As You Want It To Be
Another Crab’s Treasure
I know this might sound ridiculous, considering that Another Crab’s Treasure is a Souls Like. Granted, it is a very colorful, cute, and accessible one,but a Souls-like nonetheless.
If you play the game fair and square, then absolutely, this one is a relatively tricky affair and a platinum you’ll need to work for. However, thanks to the game’s built-in assist features, this one is actually much easier than you might think.
With some tweaks in the options menu players can make enemies weaker, make themselves much more hardy, and if that’s enough, you’re able to even exchange your shell for a huge pistol that trivializes every boss fight.
Being a bit of a purist, I would suggest you at least try to play the game as the developer intended first, as it isa wonderful gateway into the world of Souls games. However, if you simply can’t be bothered to ‘Git Gud,’ then break out that Glock and breeze through this shoals-like adventure.
7Tales of Kenzera: Zau
A Trivial Tribal Platinum
Tales of Kenzera: Zau
By and large, Metroidvanias tend to be games with tough platforming, tough combat, long campaigns, and laughablyintense end-game challenges. However, they aren’t all out there to make you work for your platinum.
Tales of Kenzera is a prime example of this, offering a visually striking and deeply affecting story based on African tribalism that delivers a tale of loss and acceptance. All the while giving players lots of eye candy, refined puzzles, platforming sequences, and much more.
However, despite this game being a polished and relatively challenging Metroidvania worth its salt, it’s one that can be finished relatively quickly, with a runtime of fewer than fifteen hours.
You’ll need to complete some tricky platforming sequences and clean up the various regions when the credits roll, but all in all, this is about as quick and straightforward as a AA Metroidvania can be.
6Tomba! Special Edition
A 2.5D Triumph
Tomba! Special Edition
When it comes to easy platinum trophies, remasters of old gamestend to be veritable gold mines due to the limitations of the hardware back in the day, which limited how much content a game could have. Which is very much the case where Tomba: Special Edition is concerned.
You really get the best of both worlds here. You get to play a remastered and polished version of one of the most criminally overlooked 2.5D platformers in existence, and you get a platinum when you complete all the events in the game.
Best PlayStation Exclusives of 2024
Just enough to beat the “one game” allegations.
With over 160 Events in the game, it does initially feel like a huge mountain to climb, but once you get going, you’ll see just how easy it is to rattle through them at pace.
Then all that’s left to do is beat the boss pigs, and you’ll have this one done and dusted in no time. It’s a cult classic for a reason, so do yourself a favor and give this old relic a try.
5Open Roads
A Second-Rate Gone Home
Open Roads
I’ll be brutally honest with you about this one. This is not a game that I recommend because it’s a good game. In fact, it’s a game I listed as one of the most disappointing in 2024, offering a real paint-by-numbers attempt ata quintessentially artsy Annapurna title.
However, what I will commend about Open Roads is that it doesn’t overstay its welcome and basically hands anyone willing to stick it out and do some mild clean-up of the platinum with little fuss.
The game isn’t completely devoid of quality, as it has some strong vocal performances, an interesting art style, and plays a little like a bargain bin Gone Home, which is a game I love, so a second-rate version of a beloved indie can still have something to offer.
All I will say is, mileage may vary, as the story is pretty bland and predictable. But, if you want an easy 100% in as little as a couple of hours, then this one is just the ticket.
4Thank Goodness You’re Here
Best of British
Thank Goodness You’re Here!
Loads of games can nail action, and loads of games can offer creepy vibes, but what you seldom see in the gaming industry is a gamethat can absolutely nail comedyand leave your sides aching.
Thank Goodness You’re Here is a game that bucks that trend and offers a short but sweet adventure around a cartoonishly silly UK setting, and from start to finish, the game is packed with silly gags, lovingly hand-drawn visuals, and quintessentially British humor.
It’s a hoot to play and should be savored. But, I would also suggest you keep one eye on a trophy guide as you go, as players who make sure they pick up all those pesky missables will walk away with a stress-free platinum in little over four hours.
And best of all, you don’t even need to disclose if you’re a big pie man, or a small pie man. That can be a secret you hold close to your chest.
3The Plucky Squire
It’s Story Time!
The Plucky Squire
Alongside a certain Game of the Year that we will get to a little later on,2024 has been great value for family-friendly games, oozing quality and class, andThe Plucky Squireis one of the finest representatives within the indie game scene.
This one sees you play as Jot, the hero of a children’s storybook who gets cast from his story by the nemesis he usually defeats with ease, and only through gaining an understanding of the world outside his own will he be able to save his storybook home.
The game is filled with novel gameplay mechanics, clever puzzles, and sublime 2D meets 3D visuals, but trophy hunters will be happy to know that this one doesn’t overstay its welcome, and you’re able to pick up the platinum in about 10 hours.
There are some minor bugs that could make this somewhat stressful if you’re a touch unlucky, but all in all, this is a lovely trophy-hunting experience that’s perfect for anyone looking to unlock their inner child.
2Cat Quest 3
Insert Cat Pun Here
Cat Quest III
If you’ve played any of the other games in the Cat Quest series, then this inclusion will come as no surprise, as the series is good value for an easy platinum across the board.
I often refer to Cat Quest as the ultimate beginner RPG, as this game provides a seamless co-op adventure with boiled-down RPG systems, progression, quests, and combat that is fun and, most importantly, idiot-proof.
You simply need to gradually upgrade your gear, master basic hacking and slashing, explore the literal map thoroughly to clear out every dungeon, and, of course, enjoy all the animal puns that fuel this kitschy adventure.
So, if you have a co-op partner who is equally trophy-obsessed, this is the ideal choice so you can double up and rack up trophies together.
1Astro Bot
A Deserved Game of the Year
It’s not all that common to listthe game of the yearas a game that all but hands you the platinum trophy, but in the case of Astro Bot, this jovial PlayStation mascot is all too happy to gift wrap it for you.
This game is one of the most refined and polished mascot platformers in existence, rivaling even the most celebrated Mario outings in recent memory, which, as you might have gathered, is high praise indeed.
It’s unadulterated fun, a nostalgia trip for any PlayStation fanatic to revel in, and aside from a few late-game levels that will test your platforming prowess, the 100% completion process couldn’t be more straightforward.
Simply collect all the bots and puzzle pieces, do all the miscellaneous bits and pieces, and this one will be yours. Plus, it’s the game of the year, for crying out loud; easy platinum or not, this is a must-play!
